Who is Cornerstone Ministry?
Cornerstone Ministry (CM) is a Norwegian-based charity led by Mr. Håvard and Mrs. Maria Nygjerde and is actively involved in humanitarian and leadership development work in Uganda.
What does CM Support?
Developing a day-center in Kisoro. The Day Center is an accessible location where children and their caregivers can access counsellors, in cooperation with Hope Community Action Africa (HCA). HCA works in collaboration with Kisoro referral hospital to provide psychosocial support to orphaned children directly affected by HIV. Currently there are 47 children being supported.
Helping children’s caregivers develop sustainable projects. These projects will help them find a sustainable solution to their current challenges.
Leadership Development Training and Support.
Cornerstone Ministry (CM) has been a key supporter of HCA’s leadership development programs since 2019. Mr. Havard and Maria have personally dedicated their time to teaching leaders online.
Why CM Support Important?
Without CM support, HCA would not be able to provide a conducive Day Center for children and their caregivers to come and access counselling services. There would be no home for the HCA district office as well.
The children are very poor and have a great need for help with medicine, clothing, schooling and food. Helping them to develop sustainable projects will help them find a sustainable solution to their current predicament.
CM is strengthening HCA’s ability to develop better leaders, which means a more effective organization that can help more people. The outcome being the access to high-quality knowledge, skills, and new perspectives.

- Day Center: Kisoro Municipality, Southwest Uganda.
- Leadership Development: Coordinated from the HCA Wakiso Office.
Local Team Operations
The Kisoro staff team is headed by Mr. Eric Niyonshima, Project Coordinator.
Team Operational Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday. Lunch Break: 13:00 – 14:00.
