1. Strategic Planning and Partnership Building
- July 2019: Held a strategic conference in Kampala with 13 leaders from various organizations and schools. Purpose: Introduced HCA’s work and explored partnership opportunities to expand youth impact nationwide.
2. Sports Ministry Workshops and Trainings
- August, September, December 2019: Conducted 3 sports ministry workshops in Rubaga Division, Kampala.
- Participants: 30 leaders and 100 young people.
- Focus: Sports outreach, life skills, and hygiene best practices.
- December 2019 – January 2020:
- Trained 30 active sports ministry leaders working with over 320 young people in Rubaga Division and Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement.
- January 2020:
- Initial sports outreach training for 100 leaders in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement.
- Practical sessions involved 30 local leaders engaging 350 youth and children (100 from Rubaga, 250 from Rwamwanja).
3. Sports Outreach and WASH Campaigns
- January 2020:
- Sports outreach in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement with The King’s Active Foundation UK (Mr. Richard Holmes and Ms. Tendekai Mukoyi).
- Participants: 380 young people.
- Activities: Sports, life skills, career motivation, health awareness.
- WASH Campaign: Reached 250 children the following day.
- Sports outreach in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement with The King’s Active Foundation UK (Mr. Richard Holmes and Ms. Tendekai Mukoyi).
- January 2020:
- Sports ministry conference and WASH Campaign in Rwamwanja involving 130 youth and their leaders.
4. Coalition Outreach to Street Children
- March 2020:
- Coalition outreach to over 100 street children in Kampala.
- Purpose: Rescue and rehabilitation for those willing to leave the streets.
- Lead Agency: Dwelling Places.
- Participating Organizations: MYDEL, Rescue Foundation, Kawempe Youth Development Association, Youth Sports Uganda, CRANE (networking support).
- HCA Contribution: Sports equipment and a support team of 6 leaders.
- HCA Team Members: Mr. Wilber Khatete, Mr. Sam Wamukota, Miss Promise Kukunda, Ms. Doreen Komugisha, Miss Jenniffer Ninsiima, Mr. Emmanuel Manishimwe.
5. General Achievement
- End of December 2019:
- Successfully completed all planned activities despite low funding, demonstrating resilience and commitment.
