We provide PsychoSocial Support (a lot of listening, advice, referrals) to children born with HIV and their caregivers. Children born with HIV, got infected accidentally by parents, deserve better care and treatment. Whereas our counseling support is open to every child 3-17 years, our priority as Hope Community Action Africa is on children who have inherited the virus from parents.

Children affected in this way and are orphaned, are the poorest and most vulnerable of all the children in their society, in areas where we work. Our PSS teams visit these children in their homes, school or schedule counseling sessions for them at our Day Center.

Health & Hygiene

Physical health is the foundation of mental well-being.

  • Medical Referrals: Field visits play a health-monitoring synergistic role, for the children and the families we support. Beyond counseling and hygiene advice, our teams ensure clients follow clinical appointments or visit a doctor for new observed cases.
  • Treatment Support: For incidences where a child may receive a prescription, but the medicines are out of stock in the hospital, HCA interventions are strategically designed to enable the caregivers access the required medication.

Health Awareness

Providing continuous training and awareness workshops remain at the center of our health activities. Health related training includes adoption, behavior change, counseling course, nutrition and hunger and trauma.
