Bethel Children’s Ministry, an initiative to educate and develop children in Nebbi district, has just completed a three-day children’s camp with theme; “How can a young man keep his way pure?” (Psalm 119:9). Bethel Children’s Ministry was initiated by Mrs. Phoebe Orombi, wife to Bishop Henry Luke Orombi (Former Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda).
The purpose of the camp was to teach the Truth of the Word of God to children, so they can grow knowing the Truth. Most of the participants were disadvantaged children, some of whom have been victims of gambling off their savings through sports betting and playing cards. Mr. Sam Oyirwoth, Assistant to Bishop Orombi, was very excited at the time of our interview with him, “We thank God that they are available, so we can impact them.”
Topics included Purity, Godliness and Life Skills. Some of the Life Skills included self-discipline, cleanliness and integrity.
Hope Community Action Africa gladly provided sports equipment for the sports ministry sessions in the afternoon, under our shared equipment policy.
