Hope Community Action (HCA) Africa envisions a vibrant community of Godly leaders demonstrating Christ’s revolutionary love in their Churches and communities across the Great Lakes Region of Africa, leading training and provision of resources that will spur hope in the lives of children. It’s in pursuit of this vision that HCA hosted 20 leaders to a prayer breakfast in Kampala on July 6th 2019, Saturday, with theme, ‘Shining God’s Light in my Community’ (Matthew 5:14-16).
The Great Lakes region is marred with conflict ranging from tribal clashes to wider armed struggles, some seemingly endless. In relatively calm areas there remains other problems such as domestic violence, tribal differences and interdenominational stand-off. These problems affect children tremendously. We want to restore hope for children in the region by encouraging Churches to pray for peace in the great lakes region. We hope that by a synergistic research and communication program we can support Churches in the region with valuable information to motivate them to continue in prayer and working together locally to find solutions to problems children and young people face in their communities, using available resources.
Mr. Ken Prochnow spoke to the participants via a video link. He encouraged participants to shine God’s light in their communities, at home and in the work place.
